Obituary for Aaron Austin Lewis

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3: 5-6



On Saturday, June 25, 2022, Jesus welcomed Aaron Austin Lewis home. He was a loving husband, father, pawpaw, brother and friend and he will be missed but we are so happy for him as he has completed the life God called him to and has now heard “well done good and faithful servant!”



Aaron Austin Lewis was born on January 6th, 1935 in Harperville, MS to Clyde and SL Lewis. He grew up in Pulaski, Mississippi, graduating from Morton High School in 1953. He went on to attend and graduate from Clark College, (Newton, MS), Mississippi College (Clinton ,MS) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (New Orleans, LA). During his ministry he pastored churches in Mississippi; also taught Bible at Frayser Baptist School in Memphis, TN. He retired from Ervin Brown Baptist Training Center in Eudora, MS.



He leaves his wife of 66 years Sarah(Sally)Lewis, son, Aaron Austin Lewis Jr (Tamy) of Three Way, TN and daughter Judy Leigh Elledge (Mike) of Southaven, MS. His brother Otis Lewis(Carmella), welcomed him in heaven. He also leaves sisters, Sara Ann Fox (Joe) of Union, MS and Margie Dell Barton (Donny) of Plano, TX as well as nieces and nephews. He was Pawpaw to six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren including one who will arrive in August



All are welcome to attend the graveside service that will be held at Pulaski Cemetery (6883 Hwy 481, Pulaski, MS on Wednesday June 29th at 11:00 am. Celebration of Life Service will be on Saturday July 2 at Eudora Presbyterian Church (1836 Hwy 301 South, Eudora, MS) at 11:00am.
