Obituary for A.R Wright Jr.
Arthur R. Wright Jr., age 79, of Memphis, Hernando, and West Fork, AR., passed away in the early hours of January 1, 2023, after a long goodbye.
Reggie spent his young life in Memphis, TN and attended Whitehaven High School. He spent four years in the U. S. Army as a Military Policeman. Upon his return he began a 30 and half year career working for the Illinois Central Railroad. He retired to West Fork, Arkansas where he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and walking his 40 acres. He served briefly as a hospice worker and supported the Wounded Warrior Project.
He is survived by two younger brothers, John R. Wright and Donald W. Wright; and two children, Anthony W. Wright and Edythe M. Verrette, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Reggie is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Sr. and Mable, and two older sisters, Daisy Brawner and Jackie Harper, and three wives.
Visiting Hours will take place at Hernando Funeral Home on Wednesday January 4 from 5:00-7:00 PM. Funeral Services on Thursday January 5 at 10:00 AM. And the Interment Service at Trenton Baptist Church in Trenton, Arkansas on the same day at 2:00 PM. He will be laid to rest with the mother of his children.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in the name of A. R. Wright Jr.
