Charlene Pickle Cates (85) was born in Memphis, TN, on February 13, 1937 to Mr. Fred Earnest Pickle and Mrs. Anne Mae Gilbert Pickle. Charlene was one of 8 children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Cates, her father, Fred Pickle, her mother, Anne Pickle, her brothers, Bo Pickle (Harriet) and Freddy Pickle (Eden), her sisters, Joanne Geiger(Jack), Norma Jean Shanklin (James), and Jane Pickle. She is survived by her brother Bob Pickle (Sherry) and her sister Peggy Burgess (Don); her children Linda James (Will), Cindy Wood, Patty Hellum (Paul) and Bo Cates (Kristie); her grandchildren, Leanne Dozier, Wes Wood (Sara), Tommy James (Haley), Brad Ghosheh, Drew Wood, Alan Cross, Colbey Cates, Madisyn Cates and Brock Cates, and 11 great grandchildren. Charlene loved animals, she always had animals of all kind coming to her back door to be fed. She loved her family and spending time together fishing on the dock. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Coldwater, MS where she loved to donate her time to the children’s home, the cooking team and worshiping her Savior. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends, but we are rejoicing that she is with Jesus. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to her church or to the Alzheimer’s association.
