Obituary for Charles Creekmore Scott Jr.

Charles Creekmore Scott Jr. age 76, a resident of Southaven, MS, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, at 2:05 pm surrounded by his children, grandson, and brother.
Charles was a man described by his family as committed, loyal, and generous but prudent. He loved to fix things; anything from computers to cars. He served in the navy during Vietnam on a destroyer. During that time his comrades discovered his musical talent and before long he was routinely asked to play rock n’ roll on the ships to boost morale. After he was honorably discharged from the Navy he went to a training school to learn how to repair electronics and computers.
He met the love of his life, Tina Yvonne Cox, and married her on November 11, 1975. They had three children together and shared their love for family, music, traveling to visit friends and family, watching movies together, and eating Mexican food. He was a software and hardware computer technician with the Memphis City Board of Education for 30 years where he retired.
Charles is survived by his daughter Christie E. Raymond of Watertown, MA, his son Charles C. Scott III of Southaven, MS, and Ashley D. Smith of Omaha, NE. He also leaves behind his brothers Robert and Glenn Martin, and a sister, Rita Martin, sister-in-laws Aliki and Giselle Martin, brother-in-law Dan, brother Rodger Scott, stepmom Mamie Scott, and cousin Phyllis Powell. He has twelve grandchildren: Bryce Raymond, Luke Raymond, Alaynah Raymond, Alexis Raymond, Zoë Raymond, Bo Raymond, Ava Harris, Andrew Harris, Aaliyah Smith, Jacob Smith, Charles Creekmore Scott IV, and Camille Scott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tina Yvonne Scott, to whom he was happily married for 23 years.
Charles chose to be cremated and his ashes will be given to his son, Charles Creekmore Scott III.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Wounded Warrior Project in Charles Creekmore Scott’s name.
