Obituary for Clif Jamison

On January 24, 2022 the Jamison family lost their Patriarch David Clifton (Clif) Jamison unexpectedly. Clif developed heart problems in his 79th year and was hospitalized for bypass surgery. Clif fought with all he had until the very end though sadly we lost our dependable provider too soon.
Clif was born and raised in Memphis Tennessee as the third of four siblings to Carl and Sidney Jamison. Clif lost his father early in life and the four siblings were raised by Sidney. Clif held a paper route and worked odd jobs to help support himself and the family through the years. Clif graduated High School around 1960 and enlisted in the Air Force. After several years in the Air Force, he worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone and line technician. In 1970 Clif enlisted in the Tennessee Air National Guard to help pay for college. Clif distinguished himself in both school and the Air National Guard while working full time for the phone company. He also met his future wife to be Dianne Craig.
In 1972 Clif earned his Associates Degree, married Dianne, started his career at University of Memphis, and built a home to start a family. Clif and Dianne raised three sons in the family home. Clif became a coach, cheering section, chaperone, carpool driver on sports trips, Boy Scout leader, and much more over the years. He retired from University of Memphis in 1997 and filled his time making furniture, remodeling the family home, tinkering in many different pursuits. Clif welcomed grandchildren to the family some years later and filled his time watching them grow and fill his heart.
Clif is survived by his loving wife Dianne, sons Chris, Marcus, and Michael, as well as three loving grandchildren. He will be missed and we will not see his like again.
Cliff will be honored in a grave site service at Hernando Memorial Park Cemetery on February 3rd at 2pm.
