Obituary for Dausie Dwayne Decker

Dausie Decker, loving husband and father, went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2022 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol Decker, son Doug (Celia) Decker, son Darin (Stacie) Decker and grandchildren: Drew (Lauren) Decker, Danielle Lenamond, Bailey Lenamond, and two great grandchildren Knox Zello and Remi Zello. He is proceeded in death by his dad Vernon Decker and mom Doris Decker and grandson Dan Decker.
Dausie loved the Lord, his family, and aviation. He started by being a refueler of aircraft at an aircraft sales and maintenance business. He worked his way up to being an airplane salesman, selling Beechraft. But he also flew Cessnas, Mooneys, and even had some time in helicopters. He then went on to manage an aircraft parts business and stayed in aircraft parts until he retired. He would enjoy flying aircraft and taking his wife and two boys on flights and instilling in his boys a love of aviation as well. He also kept up his family’s aircraft education by ensuring they were present at EVERY airshow that was in the area. He was even able to identify to them which aircraft was flying overhead just by their sound.
He loved to sing for the Lord and listen to Southern Gospel music. He would often be selected to sing in the church whether as a solo or in a group. He was a member of a church quartet that would travel to other churches to share their music. He would ALWAYS have Southern Gospel music playing.
He loved his wife very much. She was his eye-candy and babe. Every morning he would sit across from his loving wife and tell her how much he loved her.
He faith left a lasting impression on his family that will live on.
