Obituary for Edwin Sullivan

Edwin "Sully" Brooks Sullivan
November 2, 1946 - February 13th, 2022
Edwin "Sully" Brooks Sullivan, 75, a resident of Southaven, MS went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 13th, 2022 at his home. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, February 16th at 1 pm. Visitation will be from 12-1 pm at Broadway Baptist Church in Southaven.
He was born in Liberal, Kansas to Vivian and Thurman Sullivan and was a 1965 Iraan, Texas Graduate. He pursued his passion for football at Ranger Junior College in Ranger, Texas.
In 1967 he married his High School Sweetheart Lila Elaine Sullivan in Midland, Texas. Officiated at Crestview Baptist Church by Reverend Walter Everett Claus, Grandfather of the Bride. He lovingly referred to her as his bride.
He served in the National Guard as artillery supply of the 155 Howitzer for ten years and was honorably discharged as a sergeant.
In 1969 he started working for Mobil Pipeline with one of his brightest accomplishments being the East West Crude oil pipeline across Saudi Arabia where he led a construction team for two years. Retiring in 2000 with thirty one years of dedicated service.
Enjoyed coaching his sons as well as other young men through baseball leagues in Snyder, Texas where he resided for twenty four years. Residing in Southaven, MS since 2007.
Along with being active in the community youth he loved to camp throughout the United States which he did 100% for four years after retirement. He never met a stranger. Edwin was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Elaine; his sons Tim (Stacey) Sullivan of Muscatine, Iowa, Brad (DeeDee) of Coldwater, MS; his grandchildren Shanna (Phillip) Redwine, Danna (Ben) Hoffman, Nicholas Sullivan, and one Great Grandchild Emberly Redwine.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thurman and Vivian Sullivan; and by his parent in laws Jesse and Lila Roberson. Also preceding in death three brothers Gary Don, Robert, and James Sullivan.
