Obituary for Gerald Thomas Bruckman

Gerald “Jerry” Bruckman of Hernando passed away on June 8, 2022 at the age of 76. He was born November 10, 1945 in a log cabin in Alamo, TN to Paul and Mary Bruckman.
Jerry graduated from Whitehaven High School and received his Bachelor’s in Accounting at Memphis State University. He served for the Hernando National Guard before going to work for the railroad. Due to his injury on the railroad, he became a business owner and later moved into accounting. After devoting many years to Mid America Appliance, he retired in February of 2022.
He was an avid fan of Memphis Tigers basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He enjoyed working in the yard as well as drawing and wood-burning.
Jerry attended Carriage Hills Baptist Church and was a third-degree member of the Freemasons. He was known for his witty sense of humor, infamous sarcasm, and love for his family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Mary, his father, Paul, and his sister, Lisa. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Street Bruckman of 36 years, and his children, Terry Bruckman (Kim), Misti Bruckman Birmingham (Maury), Wendi Bruckman Anderson (Jon), Mindy Miller Marston (Andy), and Kristy Bruckman Marston (Adam). He is also survived by his sister, Donna Richardson (Tim), and his brother, Randy Bruckman (Pam). He was known as “Pawpaw” to 14 grandkids and was loved by many family and friends. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, June 14th, 12pm until service time at 2pm all held at Hernando Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Desoto Memorial Gardens.
