Obituary for Gwendolyn Luttrell

Gwendolyn Priscilla Brotherton Luttrell, age 75, a resident of Hernando MS, passed away peacefully at home on November 11, 2022.
Gwen was a natural light in the world. From her warm encouraging personality to her gift to make art out of anything, she made the world a better place.
Her love of the Lord guided her path through cancer treatment and gave her strength. That love of Jesus spread to her husband Casey who testifies that she is the reason he now has a relationship with his maker. She was able to see her granddaughter be baptized in August 2022 and the two of them shared a special bond of the love of God and all things artsy.
She was an active member of Desoto Arts Council, served at Leah’s House doing art therapy, worked yearly to provide Christmas boxes to underserved children, supported the Veterans Day parade, and was always up for any adventure.
Gwen is survived by her loving husband Casey Luttrell, daughter Holli Spencer (Dana Wert), brother Kenneth Brotherton (Annette), sister Judy Harris (Jimmy), grandson Michael Orman (Perri) and granddaughter Heatherlyn Spencer-Wert.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Dasie Brotherton, her daughter Heather Spencer, brother Gerald Brotherton and sister Tommye Younger.
Visitation will take place at Hernando Funeral Home on Monday, November 14 from 4-6pm. Service will be held Tuesday, November 15 at 10am at Hernando Funeral Home. Since she shined like a light, the family requests that attendees come brightly dressed as we celebrate her life and remember her for the presence that she was.
