Herma Johanna Sluder, 91, a resident of Hernando, MS went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2023 at the Methodist Hospice in Olive Branch MS. Herma was born in Bremerhaven, Germany on January 17th, 1931. She met and married Cornell Sluder on January 20th, 1948 while Cornell was stationed there with the Occupational Forces after WWII. They moved back to Mountain Grove, MO to live that same year.
Herma was preceded in death by her husband Cornell of 61 years, and her two sons John Fredrick Sluder and William David Sluder. She is survived by her son Norman Sluder (Pame) of Collierville, TN, four grandchildren, William David Sluder Jr. (Vanessa) of Senatobia, Chris (Kip) Sluder of Olive Branch, Dustin James Sluder of Nashville, Joseph Matthew Sluder, (Avery) of Collierville. One greatgrandchild, Tilly June Sluder of Collierville.
Herma was of the Evangelical Lutheran Faith.
Herma enjoyed working in her flower beds, loved to sew, but most of all she loved to swim. Herma will be laid to rest at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery along with her husband Cornell Sluder the love of her life at a later date where she will be with him forever.
Visiting hours will take place at Hernando Funeral Home on January 11th at 9:00am until services at 10:00am.
