Born on October 30,1935 in Ruleville, MS to Laura Christine and Harvey Milton Jeffcoat. Much of her childhood was spent growing up in New Orleans, LA where she acquired a taste for spicy food. Upon returning to Mississippi she met the love of her life, William Jenkins. He was her anchor in life's ocean, as well as her best friend. They were married for 60 years. She was affectionately known as Big Mama to her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Lord blessed her abundantly with a creative ability. She was an avid gardener and an artist, but most notably, sewing was her passion which she generously shared with everyone she knew. She became a Christian at a young age. Her faith and devotion were mighty throughout her life.


Preceded in death by her beloved husband, William, one granddaughter, Gabriel Throckmorton and two brothers, Harvey and Benny. Isabell Christine Jenkins, 85. passed peacefully from this life on Friday, May 28, 2021.


She is survived by 4 children, one son and 3 daughters. Debbie Jenkins (Danny), Glen Jenkins (Mindy), Tina Burke (Chris), Malinda Kilgore (Kelly), 5 Grandchildren, and 2 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.


Visitation for family and friends will be held at Hernando Funeral Home Monday - May 31st, 2021 from 10:00am to 12:00pm with Graveside services to follow at the Huntsville Church of Christ, Huntsville, MS at 2:30.
