James “Bob” Robert Manning was born in Memphis, TN July 12th, 1945 and passed away peacefully in his home, March 7th, 2022. He worked at Dover Elevator for over thirty years and retired from Horseshoe Casino after ten years. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Brenda Manning; sisters Doris Burton, Mary May, Francis Wallace, and Betty Webb; brothers Bill Manning and Kenny Manning; children Tammy McCorkle, Matt Briggs, Scott Briggs, Clay Briggs, and Amy Gitter; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty seven great-grandchildren. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Hubert Reynolds Manning and Effe Lucille Hall Manning; brothers Charles Vernon Manning and Marion Boyd Manning; and his sister Norma Jean Killingsworth. The family will be receiving friends Thursday, March 10th, from 12:30-2 pm with services starting at 2 pm all at Hernando Funeral Home. Interment to follow at New Bethlehem Cemetery in Horn Lake.
