Obituary for Janet Richardson

Janet Ellen Richardson (57) of Olive Branch, Mississippi passed away on September 21, 2021 after a long battle with breast cancer, but an even longer battle with stubbornness.

Janet would like to let everyone know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of offer you can't refuse, for an appointment in which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place full of all of the things she loved, but not limited to; Kelly's Chili, Coke, Dill Pickle Potato Chips, Cold Pizza, Dogs and a copy of "Saving the Last Dance."

Janet was a light even in dark times. Her silly antics and crass sense of humor always filled the room with laughter. Some of our fondest memories with her are filled with hilarious nicknames, incorrect movie titles and crazy stories.

"A thousand moments that I had just taken for granted, mostly because I had assumed that there would be a thousand more." - Morgan Matson

Janet is survived by her two children Clay Thomas (the favorite) and Rachel Perry (second favorite by default). Her son-in-law, Charles Perry and daughter-in-law, Katy Thomas. Her sisters Jill "Pea Head" Richardson and Judy Harrison. Six grandchildren - Alysa, Caleb, Amiah, Tyler, Maddox and Finn. Her mother Jackie Richardson.

She was preceded in death by her amazing father who she is finally reunited with, James Robert Richardson.

The family will be hosting their own memorial service September 24, 11 am at Longview Point Baptist Church.
