Obituary for Jannette Austin Douglass

Jannette Austin Douglass peacefully passed away Monday, October 4th at home in Southaven, MS. Jannette was 69 years old, born on July 30, 1952 in the small town of Tyronza, Arkansas.

Celebration of life services to be held October 7th, 2021 - viewing at 9 AM and service at 10 AM, at the Hernando Funeral Home.

Jannette was the beloved wife and best friend for over 50 years to her husband, Charlie Douglass. Jannette was the devoted mother to son Shannon Douglass and daughter Kelly Douglass Pairolero. Doting grandmother to Courtland, Tyson, Saxton and great grandmother to Baby Bryson. Jannette is survived by her brother Robert Earl Austin, nephews raised as brothers Randy & Terry Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Herschel and Lou Cynthia Austin, sister Patsy Jordan, brother Jay Austin, and her nephew raised as a brother, Keith Davis.

Jannette devoted her life to her family and friends. She was an amazing mother to her children and so close to all those that surrounded them, including her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and their childhood friends all who adored her and affectionately referred to her as “Meme”. Jannette was a lover of animals, surrounding herself with happiness and life, most notably Milo, a rescue Yorkie who she loved with all her heart. Jannette loved thrift store shopping and the collection of all sorts of mostly unnecessary things. Jannette also loved to travel, especially to the beach in the fastest sports car she could get her hands on.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be dedicated in her name to St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, TN.
