Obituary for Jimmie "Big Jim" Ray Nichols

Jimmie “Big Jim” Ray Nichols, 84, passed away in his home Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, surrounded by his wife and his sister. Jimmie worked as a drywall installer in the construction industry for many years. He was very active in the Unity Lodge #95 with his fellow members and Jimmie loved playing poker for many years with his friends and was very proud of his garden in which he grew the best tomatoes and peppers. He cherished his friends, but the loves of his life were his family. He leaves behind his adoring wife, Pamela Meade Nichols of Byhalia, MS, three daughters: Stacie Mallon of Glastonbury, CT, Shelly Tillman of Memphis, TN and Jeanette Nichols of Enid, OK. He is also survived by one sister, Charlene Ballard of Booneville, MS and four adoring granddaughters whom he loved dearly, Annabel, Paige, Ashby and Norah. The family will receive friends, Saturday, December 18th at Hernando Funeral Home three o’clock until five o’clock in the afternoon. Graveside services will be held Three o’clock in the afternoon, Sunday, December 19th at Blocker Cemetery in Olive Branch, MS. The family requests any memorial contributions to be made to The Shriners Children’s Hospital, a charity which was near and dear to Jimmies’ heart. www.loveshriners.org
