Jimmy Swinford 82 was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, January 26, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Swinford of Southaven; daughter, Shelby Ponder (Jim) of Southaven; sons, Chad Swinford (Tina) of Grenada and Larry Swinford (Jennifer) of Hernando; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, son, Tracy Carr, daughter, Sheila Weatherly and one grandchild, Bryan Carr. Jimmy was born January 12, 1939 to William and Beatrice Swinford. He served his country as a marine then later became a welder for BNSF railroad. His hobbies were fishing, gardening and cutting his grass (even though sometimes it didn’t need cutting). He never put himself first and always made sure his family was taken care of. He loved his westerns and Walker Texas Ranger and reading his bible. The one thing he loved the most was his relationship with Jesus. Pallbearers will be, Cody, Cory and Kailon Weatherly, Ryan Ponder, Landon Swinford, Jayson Swinford and honorary pallbearer, Bryan Carr. Service will be 11 am, Friday January 29, 2021 at Hernando Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 am. Interment will follow at Twin Oaks Cemetery.
