Obituary for Louise T Gardner

Louise Thompson Gardner, 93, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2021, at her home in Nesbit, MS surrounded by her loving family. Louise was born on February 17, 1928, in Rector, AR. In 1946 she married W.D. Gardner and together they raised three children, instilling in them a love for their Savior Jesus Christ and the values of faith, family, and community.

Louise was the pillar of her family and the definition of a servant to her community. There was never a time where she was not helping others. She cooked, cleaned, nurtured, and provided for anyone who needed it, without question. Surviving and flourishing through the Great Depression helped her teach others how to persevere.

She was a faithful member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church. Louise and W.D. also served at First Baptist Nesbit and Grays Creek Baptist Church. She was a true woman of God, and the Biblical and spiritual lessons that she taught will be remembered and passed down for generations to come.

Louise is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Winford Dale Gardner. She is survived by 3 children Judy, Barney (Beverly), and Mark (Elaine) and 8 grandchildren Jeff (Jennifer), Stacy, Melissa, Justin (Clare), Drew (Roxane), Jonathan (Beth), Kristen (John), and Julie (Chris). She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and close friends.

She will be greatly missed on this earth, but we know she was welcomed by Jesus with the open arms of eternity.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church, 4800 Hwy 305 N in Olive Branch, MS. Burial will be at Nesbit Community Cemetery. Hernando Funeral Home has charge. Memorials may be made to LaBelle Haven Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS or to Memphis Oral School for the Deaf in Germantown, TN.
