Obituary for Nancy Potts
Nancy Beech Sailors Potts of Hernando, MS surrounded by her family passed in the early morning hours of February 4, 2022.
Visitation will be at the Holy Spirit Church in Hernando, MS on Friday, February 11th from 6-8pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at Holy Spirit Church on Saturday February 12th at 10am. Interment will follow at Autumn Woods Cemetery in Olive Branch, MS. All family and friends are encouraged to attend.
Nancy was born to the late Tollie and Hetty Sailors in Memphis, TN. She moved with her parents to Florence, AL before moving to Humboldt, TN. There she attended Humboldt High School and graduated in 1967. She attended Jackson State Community College and University of Tennessee-Martin where she received her Associates Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
It was in Humboldt that she met her beloved husband, the late Robert M Potts whom she adored. They married on September 11, 1971 and had two children, Allison Tollivar (Potts) Andry and Robert Brandon Potts. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Hernando, MS and enjoyed dedicating her time there wherever needed.
Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert and her sister Ann Harris of Florence, AL. She is survived by her sister Brenda Hudson of Huntsville, AL. Her daughter Allison Andry and husband Erick of North Las Vegas, NV, her son Brandon Potts and wife Mary Beth of Lake Cormorant, MS. She is also survived by her five grand children Peyton Edward Younger, Atley Malcom Younger (who is currently serving in the United States Army), Elizabeth Claire Potts, Ethan McGregor Potts and Eli Sailors Potts and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that the memorials be directed to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 545 E Commerce Street, Hernando, MS 38632.
