Obituary for Paula Gail George (Geeslin)
Paula Gail Geeslin George passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, MS.
She was born September 16, 1967, in Columbus, GA, the daughter of Wendell and Ruby Frayser Geeslin.
She married her high-school sweetheart, Lane George on March 4, 1985 in Coldwater, MS, when they were both 17 years old. Paula and Lane have three children and two grandchildren, who were all the center of her world.
She loved her home and took great pride in decorating it. She enjoyed collecting china, clocks and angels but was most happy when surrounded by her family and her dog.
Paula realized her life’s dream in 1995 when she became a Cardiovascular Registered Nurse. Her nursing career lasted for more than 15 years. She treasured many memories and the friends she made throughout her nursing career, which included co-workers as well as patients and their families.
She is survived by her husband and their children: Brandon George (Chelsea) of Independence, MS; Amanda George of Strayhorn, MS; Jessica George of Coldwater, MS, and two grandchildren, Shepherd George and Lileigh George, as well as her loyal fur-baby, Oscar.
Paula also leaves sisters and brothers, Sheila Cook (Allen) of Hernando, MS; Ronnie Geeslin (Suzanne) of Senatobia, MS; Ken Geeslin of Coldwater, MS; Lisa Geeslin-Goodnite of Tampa, FL and Lori Geeslin of Memphis, TN.
Paula is also survived by a large extended family including nieces, nephews, as well as aunts, uncles and many cousins, all of whom cherished her and were dearly loved by her.
She was a beloved “PauPau” to 12 great nieces and 3 great nephews.
Paula was greeted in heaven by her parents, Wendell & Ruby Geeslin of Coldwater, MS, her paternal grandparents, Elmer and Kathleen Geeslin of Coldwater, MS and her maternal grandparents, Clifton and Ruby Frayser of Senatobia, MS.
A celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 7 pm, Friday, October 15, 2021 at Hernando Funeral Home with the family receiving friends beginning at 6 pm.
