Obituary for Becky
Rebecca “Becky” Ferguson Marter, 3774 Reghans’ Place, Hernando, MS 38632 passed away December 19, 2020, at Desoto Baptist Hospital in Southaven, MS.
Mrs. Marter was born November 25, 1943, in Carroll County, MS.
She graduated from Benford High School in Duck Hill, MS. After finishing high school, she married Charles Marter of Alva, MS.
She later worked and retired from Beverly Health Care in Grenada, MS where she worked as a certified Nursing Assistant.
Becky was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as BeBe. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and she was an avid reader.
She is survived by her Son Jeffrey Marter of Hernando, MS and her daughter Penny Marter Hoglund of South Elgin, IL, Two granddaughters Lindsay Marter Pecou of Brandon, MS, Lorrin Marter Newman of Starkville, MS, Max Baxter of South Elgin, IL, and one Great Grandson, Eli Newman of Starkville, MS.
She was preceded in death by her father, Murray Ferguson and her mother Helen Rodgers Ferguson of Carroll County MS, Two brothers Harmon Ferguson of Crestview FL, Murray Paul Ferguson of Winona, MS, Mildred Watson of Grenada, MS and Gwendolyn Willoughby of Duck Hill, MS.
She will be laid to rest after a grave side service at Hickory Gove Cemetery in Carroll County, MS.
