Obituary for Richard Wayne Whitehorn

Richard Wayne Whitehorn, 75, Linden, TN passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 14th, 2022 at his home. Visitation with the family will be held Monday, December 26th at the Hernando Funeral Home in Hernando, MS from 5PM to 7PM with the funeral service Tuesday, December, 27th at 8:00AM and a 10AM committal service at the West Tennessee Veterans’ Cemetery in Memphis, TN. Richard was born in Memphis, TN on March, 26th, 1947. He served over 7 years in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1972 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed in several trades throughout his lifetime from being an Engineer with Hughes Helicopters, an entrepreneur, and he retired as a long-haul truck driver. Richard was a prankster, a pool shark, an avid reader, fisherman, and boater. He loved spending time with his family & friends.
Richard is survived by his life-long partner Joyce Whitehorn; daughter Tresa Whitehorn (Daniel Booth) of Hernando, MS; son Rick Whitehorn of Linden, TN; daughter Angela Fowinkle of Olive Branch, MS; daughter Amy Mitchell (Tristan) of Humble, TX; daughters Ashley & Maurica Whitehorn of Lima, OH; 10 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren; brother Lloyd Whitehorn (Debbi) of Laguna Beach, CA; brother Floyd Whitehorn (Myra) of Hemet, CA; sister Lyn Winkelpleck (Rick) of Arroyo Grande, CA; and sister-in-law Debbie Whitehorn of Eureka, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilton & Betty Whitehorn, brother Bill Whitehorn, and his wife Reba Nell Whitehorn.
