Robert Earl Darby (Duck Hunter) (Bubba), 52, of Hernando, MS. was called home to be with the Lord on the night of Tuesday, October 19th. He was surrounded by his family in his home when he passed peacefully. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 20 years, Tina, daughters, Courtney Gilley, Dallas Darby, Robbie Darby, stepsons Jimmy Reynolds, Aaron Reynolds, his mother Janice Lynn Gore (Andy), his father Robert E. Darby (Elizabeth), sisters Becky Wablington (Tommy), Jessica Richardson (Brian), step sisters Elaine Thomas (Bradley), Julie Sorenson (Brad), step brother Jamie Gore, grandchildren Ryan Daniel, Cayleigh Gilley, Cadence Owen, Fischer Owen, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Robert loved to spend time with family and friends, hunting, working on cars, mud riding, talking on his CB radio and listening to music. For 35 years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator but was forced to give up the career he loved due to his health. During the best times, you could find him hanging out with family and friends just enjoying life. Robert was so loved he made an impact on everyone that he met. He definitely wasn’t someone you could ever forget. He showed up when it mattered, had your back, would give anything and everything he had to anyone if you needed it, and would defend and stand up for his loved ones should the need for it arise. He was strong and stubborn. He was loyal, caring and loving. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, cousin, friend. It’s hard to sum up a life that was so many things to so many people. He always had a way of making you smile or laugh just by being who he was. A life that will be missed by so many. It won’t be the same without you. He never looked for praises. He was never one to boast. He just went on quietly working for the ones he loved most. A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, October 23rd at 2:00 pm at the Hernando Funeral Home in Hernando, Mississippi. The family will receive friends, Friday, October 22nd between 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
