Robert G. “R.G.” Moore of Lake Cormorant passed away January 6, 2021. He was born in Louise, MS on February 5, 1943 to his parents, Albert R. Moore and Mary M. Moore who preceded him in death. R.G. retired as Captain from the Memphis P.D. after 34 years of service. He was a SSGT, U.S. Marine Corp Veteran, member of the Marine Corp League, American Legion Post #134 of Horn Lake and Rolling Thunder MS Chapter #2. He was a founding member of the Desoto County Veterans Park in Southaven and sexton of Goodrum Cemetery for many years. R.G. leaves his two brothers; Albert of MS and Butch of Florida; one sister, Vivian of N.C.; his wife of 54 years, Diane of Lake Cormorant; two sons, Matthew of Pass Christian and Mark of Lake Cormorant and five grandchildren, Jackson, Tucker, Rylie, Lucy and Lily all of MS. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Bradford Mark. Service will be 3 pm Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Hernando Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Goodrum Cemetery in Eudora, MS.
