Obituary for Robert Presley Davis Sr.

Robert Presley Davis, Sr. of Eudora, MS entered into his eternal life on December 28, 2020 at 92 years old. Robert was born 7th of 9 children in 1928 to Walter and Addie Lee Davis of Cub Lake, MS. Robert attended school at Eudora, MS where he played basketball for Eudora High School. After graduation he joined his dad in the cattle and farming businesses and worked for Charles Dockery at the cotton gin.
Robert married Ellen Belle Leard of Eudora on August 24, 1947. Robert left behind one sister, Ida White Brewer of Memphis, TN, four children, Bobby Lee Davis, Sr. (Wanda), Mary Ellen Houck (James-deceased), Walter Leroy Davis (Becky), and Robert Presley Davis, Jr. (Peggy), fourteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, sixteen great-great-grandchildren and a plethora of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was loved by all that met him.
Robert was a member and Deacon at First Baptist Church of Eudora, where he attended with his children and grandchildren before attending Trinity Baptist Church. He always put God first and started each day sitting in his recliner reading his bible and praying.
Robert retired from DeSoto County Schools where he worked as a janitor at Hernando Elementary. He was loved dearly by all the teachers and children. He was a lifelong member of the Eudora Lions Club and a Mason at Hernando Lodge #51 where he just received his 60-year pin.
Robert had a love like no other. His smile was contagious, and his love was amazing. If you met him for the first time or saw him every day, he treated you like you were the most important person in the world. Everyone was family to him.
