Steven D. Wade, 60, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Steve was born September 5, 1961 in Clearwater, Florida. He met the love of his life, Robin, in Memphis and they shared 36 wonderful years together. Their son, Bryce, was his pride & joy. They enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering around on trucks and riding 4-wheelers together. Steve loved to spend time at Deer Camp with Hub and the guys. He loved to shake his head and smile behind Bryce’s back as he told his friends about Bryce’s mud-riding antics.
Steve loved to clown around. He never met a stranger. Every story he told started off like a fishing tall tale… “I kid you not…” Before he was done you were captivated, and believed every word. Steve loved to grill and there was always enough food for anyone who stopped by. His presence lightened the world around him, and provided a comfortable place for anyone he encountered.
He had been at Medtronic 12 years. His current role was Engineering Program Manager. He was just inducted into the Technical Fellowship Program – a highly prestigious honor within Medtronics. His co-workers appreciated his ability to mentor and motivate them to achieve greatness. He loved to travel and no problem was too big to solve. He could make even the toughest jobs fun and challenging. He will be missed.
Steve loved kids, and they were always just as drawn to him. If kids were around, he could always be found keeping them entertained. He might be on the floor with them, stuck being their new favorite jungle gym, or giving piggy back (and tractor) rides.
Steve will be joining his father, Don Wade, and father-in-law, Gerald Jenkins. Those three are keeping the angels laughing for sure.
Steve leaves behind his wife, Robin; son, Bryce; mother, Loraine; aunt, Martha; sister, Rhonda; mother-in-law, Gladys; brothers-in-law, Bobby, Terry and Tim; sisters-in-law, Jamie and Sherry; nephew, Joshua; nieces, Teri Lynn (Henry), Chelsea (Robert); great-nieces/nephew, Arianna, Margaret, and Michael; as well as many great friends who have become like family through the years.
Hernando Funeral Home will be hosting a memorial service at the funeral home at 2 pm Wednesday, September 29th.
