Obituary for Tara Renee Pickett

Tara Renee Pickett was born August 8th, 1978 and passed away August 7th, 2022. She was born in Memphis, TN and lived in Nesbit, MS. Tara was a member of Hernando Baptist Church. She graduated from Hernando High School and attended Northwest Community College earning an Associates Degree in Medical Technology. She loved working with her hands. Her dad taught her how to work on cars. It wasn't unusual to see her in the garage working on her friends cars; changing oil, putting in new brakes. She would attempt almost anything that needed to be done. She loved camping, fishing, just being out in nature. Give her a campfire and friends and she was in heaven. Her love of nature also had her taking her mother and daughter to the Bluff overlooking the delta where she spent a lot of her high school years hanging out to pick up garbage and clean the place up. She was a very compassionate person. It was not unusual for her to encounter a homeless person and do everything she could to arrange for them to have a place to sleep for the night and a good meal. She had a contagious smile that her family and friends will surely miss.
She was preceded in death by her fiancé Josh Raines; father James Robert Pickett; sister Jennifer Ann Pickett Reynolds; step brother Darrell Bannon (Sandy) of Chattanooga, TN; and her grandparents. She is survived by her mother Charlotte White Bannon (Charles) of Nesbit, MS; daughter Lilah Ann Raines of Nesbit, MS; nephew Ian Curry Reynolds of Nashville, TN; niece Emma Grace Reynolds of Dallas, TX; step brother David Bannon (Tracy) of Chattanooga, TN; step sister Carol Taylor (John) of Scottsboro, AL; two aunts; three uncles; and many cousins.
The family will be having a private family visitation from 9:30-10 am Thursday, August 11th, then receiving friends from 10-11 am with services beginning at 11 am all at Hernando Funeral Home.
