Tyler Eugene Jones was born 34 years ago June 27th, 1988, on one of the hottest days recorded in Memphis, Tennessee. He met his Savior Jesus Christ on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, 2022 at 8:15pm, when his heart gave up from renal failure. He is survived by his parents Michael and Pamela Jones (Hernando, Ms.), he was brother to Dustin Jones, his wife Wendy (Hubert, NC.) and Brandon Jones, his wife Malorie (Starkville, Ms.). He was Uncle Tyler to Dustin “Blake” Jones Jr. and Emily Jones (Hubert, NC.). He was grandson to; Sharon Terrett and her husband George (Hickman, Ky.), Mary Frances Linsman and her husband Johnny (Paris Tn.), Robert Wells and his wife Lavern (Grand Rapids, Mi). His aunts are Patsy Potter, Vanessa Koch husband John, Melody Plowman husband Tim and his Uncle Paul Jones. Tyler is also survived by many cousins and great cousins.
He was always a different child, he never met a stranger, he wanted to be your friend. From an early age Tyler’s friends were the adults in his life, because he was always joking around and getting attention that even in his later years caused him a lot of trouble. So the authority figures would separate him in the office. Where they became his friends, because he was so lovable. He would listen, learn and talk to them and they were so intrigued by his ability to communicate and carry-on conversations that had relevance from day to day. He was so smart as A.D.D. kids usually are, and also misunderstood by many. But, if you were an underdog he wanted to be your superhero, and he used laughter as his God given talent to rescue you. Letting you know you’re ok just like you are. If you were the bully he wanted to save you as well helping you understand, what he knew all too well, that we are all different and created to be unique and loved for that uniqueness not ostracized.
Tyler graduated from Northwest Junior College. He moved to Tupelo, Ms. to live and work at Toyota, Blue Springs for 5 years. His next venture was marking gas lines, and he worked for Tupelo-to-go during covid. He landed his favorite job at the United States Postal Service, like his grandfather before him and never looked back. He loved the people he worked with and he worked tirelessly to be successful and helped several postmasters in his area, where ever and when ever he was needed.
One of Tyler’s biggest loves has always been superhero’s, particularly Batman. He went to comic cons across the country and has met many of his comic heroes, he also collected memorabilia and costumes. He loved “Supernatural” as well and even met Dean and Sam and loved seeing their car in person. From a very young age Tyler’s A.D.D. diagnoses made him great at video games. He was part of a community/family of gamers that played on Playstation regularly as a group for the past 10 years. He was also very passionate about his collection of video games and movies.
Tyler’s best friend, Dee Tedford, a blind lady that he met many years ago, he cared for like family. They talked everyday, he took her to comic conventions and visited her often to check in on her. Just like all the people in Tyler's life, he treated them with respect, patients, kindness, caring and was giving of whatever he had.
Tyler was preceded in death by his grandfather, Everett Eugene Jones, who he never got to know, but who would have been his best friend because of their like personalities, and his great-grandmother Pauline Lyons, as well as his cousin Chris Herring.
