Obituary for Tyler Glen Liles

Tyler Glen Liles, 33, of Hernando, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 1, 2021. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 7, 1987. His family moved to Mississippi in July 1995.

Tyler was active and athletic, playing several years of competitive soccer and excelling on the Hernando High School golf team. Tyler remained an avid golfer, fisherman and conservationist throughout his adult life. He served his country proudly as a veteran of the U.S. National Guard, serving one tour in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon his return home, he lived in Iowa, North Carolina and Indiana before returning to Mississippi to replant his roots in February 2020. Tyler was a member of Hernando United Methodist Church, where he was confirmed in his youth. He was a beloved son and brother, a dedicated father, and cherished spending time with his son, Henry Glen.

In addition to his son, Henry Glen Liles, of Bloomington, IN, Tyler is survived by his mother, Lea Ann Liles of Hernando, MS; father, Charlie William of Indianapolis, IN; sisters, Callea Liles Shafizadeh of Atlanta, GA and Katelyn Liles of Hernando, MS and Brandy Ivy of Huntsville, AL; brothers, Colin Clay Liles of Hernando, MS and Jason Shafizadeh of Atlanta, GA; niece, Caroline Mae Shafizadeh and the mother to his son, Maggie Xiaoying of Bloomington, IN. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Ray Liles and his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Glen Lee Sakel and Mr. & Mrs. Henry Clay Liles.

Tyler’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Hernando United Methodist Church with Rev. David Cox officiating. Family visitation will take place prior to the service at 11:00 AM, followed by a family and friends visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Family and friends are welcome to join together for a Memorial Gathering following service at 3:00 PM at Tyler’s childhood home in Hernando, MS.

Tyler loved life, his family and friends, and all things fishing. Memorial contributions in Tyler’s memory may be made to the National Fish and Wildlife
