William Andrew “Drew” Huckaby, 40, loving son, husband, and father of five, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born September 5, 1980 in Memphis, TN, the son of Arthur Franklin Huckaby and Bettye Gnemi Huckaby. The family lived in Southaven, MS for all of his childhood and adolescent years. After graduating Southaven High School, Drew went on to earn a degree in industrial engineering from Mississippi State University. He went to work for UPS in Memphis where he was a faithful employee for over 16 years. After college he married Stephanie Sandlin and built a home in Hernando, MS. Together they enjoyed nearly 14 years of a beautiful covenant marriage and were blessed with five wonderful children.
Drew trusted in Jesus for the forgiveness of his sins from a young age, and his life was marked by grateful and devoted obedience to his Master in his callings as husband, father, church member, and friend. As a faithful servant of Christ and seeking to encourage and spur others on to love Christ more, he met with and discipled countless men throughout his time on earth. He was a natural and trusted friend, a wise counselor, and a devoted father to his five children. Above all, he was faithful in reading, studying and applying God’s word to his life.
Drew is survived by his parents, Frank and Bettye Huckaby.
He is also survived by his wife Stephanie, his sister Debbie (Larry) Lawrence, his brother, Steve Huckaby, and his five children, Eve, Will Franklin, Caleb, Eli, and Josiah. Together they honor him as a man who loved and feared the Lord.
Due to Covid concerns the Celebration of Life service will be family only. For those who would like to join in virtually, the service will be live streamed on Facebook February 23rd, 2021 at 11:00 am on Stephanie's page, the link will be public.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy Hill Church in Olive Branch, MS where Drew faithfully served as an elder. (8860 College St 38654).
